The Troubled Marriage of Comedian Kapale: A Story of Fear and Loss
Comedian MC Kapale, born Simon Kawuki Zikusoka, has opened up about a difficult chapter of his life, detailing what he describes as emotional distress and abuse during his marriage to an older white woman.
What began as an exciting opportunity abroad, he says, gradually turned into a painful experience that forced him to rethink his decisions and ultimately walk away from what he once believed would be a fresh start.
Speaking in an interview with Cruz Exclusive, Kapale explained that his relocation to the United States was fueled by optimism. He had hoped marriage would offer him stability, love, and a chance to rebuild his life in a new environment. To him, it represented a turning point—both personally and professionally.
However, that optimism, according to him, faded soon after the wedding.
He recalls that the early stages of the marriage were already marked by emotional strain and discomfort, replacing the excitement he had initially felt. Instead of the supportive home he had envisioned, he found himself in a tense environment that quickly became overwhelming.
One incident in particular stood out for him. Shortly after the wedding, one of his wife’s sons allegedly asked when he intended to leave the United States. While it may have seemed like a casual remark, Kapale says it made him feel unwelcome and signaled deeper issues within the family dynamics.
As time went on, he claims the situation worsened. What started as emotional tension, he alleges, escalated into both physical and psychological abuse, leaving him increasingly distressed and insecure in the relationship.
Despite enduring the situation, Kapale says the marriage eventually collapsed. He reveals that he was entitled to a divorce settlement reportedly worth up to three million dollars, but chose not to pursue it. According to him, this decision was influenced by threats from his wife’s children, which made him prioritize his safety over financial gain.
Even after the separation, he says his ordeal was not over.
Kapale further alleges that he was falsely accused of attempted rape, a claim that led to his arrest and imprisonment. He describes the experience as traumatic and deeply unsettling, adding another difficult layer to his already strained situation.
He also recalls a disturbing moment when he was taken to a shrine in his wife’s village, where he believes there was an attempt to bewitch him. He says the incident reflected how toxic and hostile the relationship had become.
Looking back, Kapale admits the experience left a lasting impact on him, reshaping how he views trust, relationships, and personal boundaries.
While deeply personal, his account highlights how appearances can be misleading, with some relationships hiding serious struggles beneath the surface.
For Kapale, what once seemed like an American dream ultimately fell apart. In the end, he says walking away—even without the financial settlement—was a decision rooted in survival and self-preservation.
